Not that it seemed to matter – they found corpses in the farmland surrounding the village as well, bodies trampled down in their bloody fields of barley. The Greenskins had left plenty of bodies among the burning huts and slaughtered pigs – most unarmoured and unprepared men and boys who had tried to took up arms at the ringing alarm bells instead of fleeing.
Al’lia and the rest of her sisters had crossed through that smoldering ruin as well. Her unit had crossed it about least five leagues north of an Imperial village that their quarry – an unusually destructive horde of greenskin raiders - had plundered the night before.
